Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an effective form of medical treatment that encourages the body to promote natural healing and improve function. It involves the insertion of very thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body. Acupuncture works by creating an opening of the blood vessels, allowing more blood, oxygen and nutrients to reach the site of injury. Acupuncture is used to reduce chronic pain and to balance the body by stimulating its own healing resources. In addition to treating pain, acupuncture is also helpful in treating internal conditions such as digestive disorders, fertility, anxiety and much MUCH more.

Microcurrent Therapy

A non-invasive, painless technique to treat Chronic and Acute Pain. Microcurrent Therapy is a technique for treating pain that uses low-level electrical current. The currents used in Microcurrent Therapy are so low that the patient often does not feel them.

The current is delivered to certain parts of the body in an attempt to relieve the pain. Frequencies have a direct effect on our bodies and can almost instantaneously change the chemistry. For example, there are frequencies clinically proven to reduce inflammation and others that improve circulation. It’s like writing a computer program for our bodies to heal.

Cupping/Gua Sha
Cupping

Cupping is a type of therapy that uses small glass or plastic cups that are suctioned onto the skin. The cups might be moved along an area of pain or kept in one place. This therapy is used to eliminate toxins, improve circulation, and relax the muscles. It is used to release muscle tension, as well as treating a cough, asthma, digestive disorders, and allergies. The cups may leave slight red marks that will dissipate in 2-5 days.

Gua Sha

Gua Sha is a Traditional Chinese Medicine technique that involves stimulation of the surface of the skin with a round-edged instrument. Gua means to rub or friction. Sha is the term used to describe congestion of blood at the surface of the body. The scraping of the skin results in the appearance of reddish/purple petechiae, breakage of the sub-dermal blood vessels. The sha may last 2–5 days. The color and rate of fading are both diagnostic and prognostic indicators. Gua Sha removes blood stagnation, which can cause pain in the body by disallowing healthy circulation of the blood through the tissues. Immediate relief from pain, stiffness, fever/chills, cough, nausea, etc. is commonly experienced.

Gua sha can be used for many different types of disorders including acute upper respiratory problems such as cold/flu-like symptoms, chronic aches and pains, digestive disorders, and may be helpful in alleviating symptoms of multi-systemic disorders such as sleep apnea and headaches. After receiving Gua Sha, please keep the area covered, avoiding exposure to wind, sun or sudden change in temperature until the marks have faded. Stretching is recommended but not a heavy workout on the day of treatment.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a technique used to treat trigger point pain and myofascial pain. Dry needling can provide relief for muscular pain and stiffness. In addition, easing the trigger points may improve flexibility and increase range of motion. That’s why this method is often used to treat sports injuries, muscle pain, and even fibromyalgia pain. Other terms commonly used to describe dry needling, include Acupuncture, trigger point dry needling, and intramuscular manual therapy.

Electro Acupuncture

Electro-acupuncture is a form of acupuncture where a small electric current passes between two needles to increase the stimulation of the acupuncture points. There is only enough stimulation for the patient to feel a slight pulsating sensation. It is proven effective to successfully treat conditions ranging from musculoskeletal problems (i.e. back pain, neck pain, and others) to nausea, migraine headache, anxiety, depression, and insomnia.
